Over 900 kg ganja seized from truck cabin

Visakhapatnam: In a major haul, Anakapalle district police seized 912 kg of dry ganja worth over ₹50 lakh and arrested two persons near Gullepalli junction under Sabbavaram mandal in the district.The arrested have been identified as B Tharun (22)of Janagam district in Telangana, and Sethi Males Rao (24) of Malkangiri district of Odisha.Anakapalle district police chief Deepika M said that based on credible information, the Sabbavaram police, led by inspector P Ramana, intercepted the truck which was heading towards Sabbavaram from Kothavalasa of Vizianagaram. Upon verifying, the cops found a fabricated cabin in the truck, in which the accused persons stored the contraband, she added.The preliminary investigation has revealed that a gang procured the banned substance from parts of the tribal pockets in Malkangiri district of Odisha. Five more persons are involved in this case and a special team has been formed to nab the remaining accused.In another incident, the Vizianagaram district police seized around 300 kg dry ganja near Kothavalasa. However, the drug peddlers abandoned their van and fled from the spot. Efforts are on to nab them.

Police seize 350 kilograms of ganja in Rajahmundry; two arrested

Police in ASR district seized 350 kilograms of dry ganja and 100 grams of liquid ganja, arresting two suspects transporting the drugs from Mothugudem to Maharashtra. The operation led by ASP Chinturu also identified two additional suspects still at large. The seized contraband's value is around 17.60 lakh. Enhanced security measures are planned, including more check posts and CCTV installations.

Andhra Pradesh: 4 workers injured in mishap at pharma factory in Anakapalle district

An accident at Synergene Active Ingredients in Andhra Pradesh's Anakapalle district injured four workers, one critically. The mishap occurred during solvent preparation. Home Minister V. Anitha and Anakapalle MP CM Ramesh will visit the hospital. The incident follows another fatal accident at Escientia Advanced Sciences, where 17 died and 36 were injured.

Four suffered burns in a flash fire mishap at pharma company at Parawada in Anakapalle district

A flash fire occurred at Synergene Active Ingredients Pvt Ltd in Parawada, Anakapalle district, injuring four workers from Jharkhand. The incident happened during the charging of Losartan potassium in a reactor with methanol, caused by static electricity. The injured workers were hospitalized. Authorities filed a negligence case against the company, and an investigation is ongoing.
