Jilted lover kills girl's father in Vijayawada
VIJAYAWADA: A man stabbed a 56-year-old man to death on the road near Brindavan Colony under Krishnalanka police station limits in Vijayawada city on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as 56-year-old K Sriramachandra Prasad, a resident of Bhavanipuram locality in the city, who runs a grocery shop at Brindavan Colony.
The accused, Siva Manikanta, is a physical education teacher at a private school. He proposed to Prasad's daughter, who is a second-year engineering student, and attempted to trap her.
Noticing that Siva Manikanta had been stalking her for the past few days, Sriramachandra Prasad admonished Siva Manikanta and advised his daughter to focus on her studies.
Enraged, Siva Manikanta attacked the girl’s father and stabbed him to death when he was returning home after closing his grocery shop on Thursday night. The accused fled from the spot after committing the crime.
The Krishnalanka police have registered a case, and the investigation is underway to nab the accused.
