Former Deputy Chief minister Alla Nani faces legal trouble after lift incident in Eluru

ELURU: A case was booked against the former deputy chief minister Alla Nani and five others in Eluru Three Town police station. A woman, Avutapalli Naga Mani lodged a complaint with the police.

According to the complainant, as part of the election campaign on April 20, 2024, Alla Nani, deputy mayor Sudheer Babu and other went to Lakshmi Krishna Residency apartments. Naga Mani along with four others boarded the lift to descend from the fourth floor, but unfortunately the lift suddenly plummeted causing injuries to the people inside the lift. Naga Mani lost consciousness. Deputy Mayor Sudheer Babu informed the family and she was admitted in a private hospital in Eluru. She was informed that Alla Nani has assured that any problem arising during the election campaign would be handled and financial assurance would be provided. Subsequently, another accused in the case, Dr Sunil Sandeep performed surgery on Naga Mani without informing anyone about the matter. After being discharged from the hospital, the husband of Naga Mani approached Alla Nani many times for financial help and Nani did not did not fulfil his promise despite promising help.

Instead, other accused persons Jalil Khan and Kuralla Ram Prasad verbally abused Naga Mani’s husband causing fear and distress. It is also alleged that the accused persons visited the house of Naga Mani and issued threats.
