Vijayawada: The crew of Train No. 16031 rescued an injured passenger who accidentally fell from the moving train near Bitragunta in Nellore district on Monday.According to railway authorities, the incident occurred after an alarm chain pulling (ACP) indication was received while the train was en route. Following standard safety protocols, the train crew immediately brought the train to a controlled halt.Soon after, train manager K Sampath Kumar of Bitragunta depot was informed that a male passenger had fallen from the train and was lying injured beside the track. Recognising the seriousness of the situation, the crew comprised loco pilot V Subba Rao, co-loco pilot LV Gopal, and train manager K Sampath Kumar quickly assessed the operational and safety conditions.After ensuring all prescribed safety procedures were followed, the crew cautiously reversed the train by approximately 300 metres to reach the injured passenger. The man was found injured but conscious alongside the railway track.The crew immediately brought the passenger on board the train and provided first-level assistance while continuously monitoring his condition during the journey. Upon reaching Tenali railway station, the injured passenger was handed over to the station master, who arranged for medical treatment and further assistance as per railway procedures.
