Andhra Pradesh: Veteran doctor, educator Prof Rao passes away at 100
Visakhapatnam: Noted physician and medical educator Prof Dr Patnam Siva Rama Krishna Rao passed away at the age of 100, marking the end of an illustrious seven-decade career in medicine and academics. He served as an MD examiner for 18 medical colleges and trained over 3,000 undergraduate students, besides mentoring several postgraduate doctors now working across the globe. Over the years, he studied and worked in Madras, Guntur, Kakinada and Visakhapatnam, significantly contributing to medical education. A prolific academic, his research was published in several reputed journals. Remarkably, at the age of 99, he brought out the fifth edition of his widely used textbook, Differential Diagnoses and Medical Therapeutics. He is survived by two daughters, a son-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Anakapalli: KVV Satyanarayana Murthy, popularly known as KCVS Babu (75), a leading wholesale trader of jaggery and sugar, passed away in Anakapalli on Tuesday. A prominent figure in the region’s trade circles, Babu joined his family’s jaggery business at the age of 19 and went on to lead the 120-year-old Kadimisetti Chinna Veeranna Sons (KCVS) organisation for over five decades. Under his stewardship, the firm expanded its reach, supplying jaggery and sugar to markets across North India. He was honoured by the Rotary Club for his contributions to trade and society. Known for his philanthropic activities, Babu supported several spiritual and charitable organisations. He is survived by his wife, two sons, two daughters and grandchildren.
