Two brothers from Andhra found hanging in city ashram room

Varanasi: Bodies of two brothers were found hanging in a room at Ramtarak Andhra Ashram in the Mansarovar area of Sonarpura under Bhelupur police station of Varanasi on Tuesday.ACP, Bhelupur, Dhananjay Mishra, said that the police broke into the room the youths were staying in. The bodies had decomposed. He added that they were identified as P Lakshmi Narayan (34) and P Lok Vinod (32) of Narayanapuram village in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. After informing their family, the bodies were sent for postmortem examination. He added that the reason behind the duo "committing suicide" could not be determined.The ashram's trustee manager, VV Sundar Shastri, told the police that both had arrived on Aug 28 and stayed at the ashram, mentioning that they had come on a pilgrimage and for sightseeing. On Tuesday afternoon, the ashram staff experienced a foul smell coming from the room. When they knocked on the door and received no response, they alerted Shastri. Later, the ACP and Bhelupur inspector Vijay Shukla reached the spot and the door of their room was broken. Upon finding the duo hanging from the ceiling, officials called the forensic team to collect evidence. No suicide note was found in the room, police said.Following the initial investigation, cops suspect that the elder brother, Lakshmi Narayan, would have hanged himself first. The cops also checked CCTV footage and found that they were not seen outside their room after Sept 5. The younger brother was captured on CCTV taking a dustbin inside the room on the afternoon of Sept 8. The door did not open after that. It is believed that they hanged themselves on Sept 8.
