VARANASI: The department of chemistry Institute of Science Banaras Hindu University would organise a two-day national symposium on ‘Brainstorming meeting on chemistry at the interface’ on December 26 and 27.
Head of the department prof MS Singh said that the symposium aims to provide a platform for researchers particularly chemists across the country to exchange their ideas on design, synthesis, applications, and environmental aspects of materials.
He said that about 20 senior scientists have been invited to deliver lectures and nearly 100 young researchers will exhibit their research findings in the form of oral/poster presentations, while around 200 research scholars will take part in the symposium.
According to him, chemical science deals with the constitution and properties of matter. It is the art of chemical synthesis of nature that has led to existence of billions of molecules from only ninety-plus elements effectively available around us. The rising exponential growth in demands of varying functional materials has led the chemists to emphasize newer strategic designs and synthetic routes. The same has yielded a plethora of materials with multifaceted values at affordable costs.
