Come up with logical points, says Rijiju; slams Oppn on Budget criticism
Varanasi: Union law and justice minister Kiran Rijiju asked the opposition to come up with logical points if it was criticizing the Union Budget.Talking to reporters after explaining the nitty-gritty of the Budget tabled by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman at a meeting with local intelligentsia at Gandhi Adyayan Peeth of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth on Saturday evening, he said: “The historical Budget prepared by Sitharam under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has nothing which could be criticised.”“Those who are criticizing it are doing so for political reasons only,” he said.Reacting over Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s criticism of Budget, Rijiju said, “Perhaps Akhilesh is making comments without going through the details of Budget.”“This first Budget of Amrit Kaal, prepared to make India a powerful and developed nation by 2047, will ensure that people in backward and deprived sections of society are also coming to the mainstream of society. If the government has taken care of the poor class, it has brought a smile on the faces of middle class people, who are speaking publicly that no other government has given such a big relief in income tax slabs like the Modi government has given this time,” he said.Talking about sector-wise budgetary allocations, he said that historical allocations have been made for infrastructure development, especially of the railways. “While air, highway and rural road connectivity is going to be enhanced, the reach of 4G and 5G services for improved telecom services will become available by 2024,” he said, highlighting the Eklavya scheme to cover each and every child of remote zones and difficult terrains with school education, and other key points of the Budget.Rijiju denied speaking on the issues of collegium system and Ladakh issue, mentioning that he had come to Kashi only to discuss the points of historical Budget of Modi government.
