Teacher arrested for attempted sexual assault`

Vadodara: A primary school teacher in a village in Shehra taluka of Panchmahal district was arrested for allegedly trying to sexually assault a Class 5 student in the school.The alleged crime was committed on Feb 24. The 40-year-old teacher asked the girl to sit on his lap and made indecent demands. The girl got frightened and tried to run away.The teacher tried to stop her forcibly by holding her frock. The frock tore due to the force, and she managed to run away. She went to her classroom and attended school during the day.On returning home, when her parents asked her about the torn frock, she narrated the incident. The parents registered an offence at the Shehra police station, and the police arrested the teacher on Friday after registering an offence under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
