Passengers allege suffocation inside flight after AC outage
Vadodara: Passengers onboard an IndiGo flight from Vadodara to New Delhi on Saturday night alleged that they were left stranded inside the aircraft for nearly 45 minutes without air-conditioning after a technical snag delayed take-off at Vadodara airport.
According to passengers, the air-conditioning inside flight 6E 657 stopped functioning while the aircraft remained grounded, leading to discomfort and panic among travellers. Some passengers claimed that the aircraft doors remained closed during the delay, making the situation “suffocating”.
A passenger, Pramod Sharma, posted on social media that the Vadodara-Delhi flight was stranded after the ground pushback system reportedly developed a fault and no replacement equipment was immediately available at the airport. He alleged that passengers were “getting worked up” due to the lack of ventilation inside the aircraft.
IndiGo responded to the complaint on social media, stating that it regretted the inconvenience caused and was looking into the issue.
Sources said the delay occurred before departure procedures could be completed. Some passengers also complained about inadequate communication from the airline staff during the period.
There was no immediate official statement from the airline or airport authorities regarding the duration of the delay or the technical issue.
