Parmar mentioned in the note that he was committing suicide as the duo frequently threatened to kill him when he asked for money.
"When we reached the spot, both Patel and Jesadia were already there in the crowd. Patel came forward and helped us in bringing the body down. He removed the suicide note and tried tearing it off. We intervened and the locals came forward and attacked him. When we tried to take him to the vehicle, the people started attacking us," said Savli police inspector A N Gabani.
Gabani added that Parmar was friends with both Patel and Jesadia and that the trio was land brokers. Parmar in his suicide note had written Patel and Jesadia's names along with their contact numbers. A copy of Rs 1 lakh cheque given by Patel to him was also stapled to the suicide note. Parmar's body has been sent for postmortem at the SSG Hospital.
Police are waiting for the report to ascertain the exact cause of his death.
Parmar's wife, Lata Parmar, has filed a police complaint against Patel and Jesadia. The duo has been booked on charges of abetment to suicide under section 306 of Indian Penal Code.
