1.57L tourists visited Udaipur last month

Udaipur: The City of Lakes, Udaipur, has witnessed a record-breaking influx of tourists in Aug. The city has welcomed 1.57 lakh tourists in Aug, an increase of 31,372 tourists from 1.25 lakh registered in July. Among the visitors, 1.48 lakh were domestic travellers and 9,192 were international tourists.The number of tourists surpassed 1 lakh mark for the fourth consecutive year and 1.5 lakh for two years in a row. The good show comes notwithstanding local disturbances, including a stabbing incident at a govt school, a six-day internet suspension, curfews and market shutdowns.

The Kerala state government has mandated that classified hotels and tourist accommodations provide restrooms and basic facilities for taxi drivers transporting tourists. This decision addresses the needs of taxi drivers, ensuring a safer and more comfortable travel experience for tourists. The tourism department also plans to issue special identity cards for these drivers.

Escorts trap tourists with rape-case threat, ring busted
