Resolution passed in DMK meeting against Centre for returning Keeladi report
Trichy: Deputy chief minister Udhayanidhi Stalin chaired a consultation meeting of the newly appointed DMK state and district youth wing office-bearers in Trichy on Sunday. During the meeting, fifteen resolutions were passed including lauding recent court verdicts and criticising the Union govt. One of the resolutions extended condolences to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and the martyrs of Operation Sindhoor with a praise for the efforts of the Indian armed forces. The participants welcomed the Supreme Court's ruling on the powers of the governor and the conviction of accused in the Pollachi sexual assault case. They said Union govt has been ‘undermining' state autonomy and ‘deliberately delaying' the release of the Keeladi excavation report. "The researcher submitted the report that establishes Tamil history as dating back 2,200 years to the Union archaeological department in Jan 2023. However, the Union govt not only delayed its release and failed to respond to it in the Parliament, but it has now returned the report requesting amendments," a resolution read.According to sources, Udhayanidhi Stalin, also the DMK youth wing secretary, reiterated that the DMK would not be intimidated by Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids, and criticized the AIADMK-BJP alliance. He instructed party members to begin election work by promoting the govt's achievements.Later in the day, Udhayanidhi met two govt school students who despite the recent loss of their fathers, wrote and passed their exams. He presented awards to them and assured them of support. School education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi and municipal administration minister K N Nehru were present.
