Fuel stocks for govt buses sufficient: Min
Trichy: Transport minister S S Sivasankar has said there is sufficient stock of fuel required for govt buses. He added that steps are being taken to procure additional electricity, considering the increased summer power demand.Sivasankar was speaking to reporters after laying foundation stone for new sub-stations valued at Rs13.77 crore in Silal and Kumilankuzhi villages in Ariyalur district. He also laid foundation stone for a branch of the primary agricultural cooperative credit service society in Vaanathirayanpattinam village, and flagged off services of 26 buses on new routes"Currently, sufficient fuel stock is available for govt buses. If the war continues, further consultations will be held and appropriate actions taken," he said. To another question, he said Tangedco planned for summer power requirements well in advance. "Measures for additional power procurement have been initiated, and steps have been taken to ensure there are no power cuts at any time," he added. MLAs K Chinnappa, Ka.So.Ka. Kannan, and officials from various departments were also present.
