World Cup football: KSEB calls for vigil against electrical hazards
T’puram: KSEB has called for extra caution by public against erecting flexboards and other display materials ahead of the World Cup football tournament which is all set to kick off.
“Putting up flex boards, banners, flags and streamers across roads or near power lines by fans is extremely dangerous. If they accidentally come into contact with power lines while installing, that can cause severe electric shock and even loss of life. In strong winds and rain, such banners and flag streamers may fall onto power lines, increasing the chances of power outages and putting public safety at risk,’’ said a KSEB statement.
The Board urged the public to remain highly cautious and to report any electrical hazard to the nearest section office or to the emergency number 9496010101.
