Mani who is also the chairman of the GST empowered committee told TOI that political parties should unite and vote in favour of the GST bill as it would increase the revenue flow of the states as well as the Centre government. "The GST bill should be passed at the earliest. We had been maintaining this stand ever since the new tax regime was mooted. Once passed, the GST will be mutually beneficial to both the state and the centre. The flow of revenue of both the centre and state governments will increase with the implementation of the act," said K M Mani.

Kerala Conress (M) is represented by Joy Abharaham MP in Rajya Sabha. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has on the other day claimed that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has got the numbers to get the GST bill passed this time.
