NEW DELHI: Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate K Radhakrishnan won Kerala's Alathur (SC) Lok Sabha constituency.
The Alathur (SC) Lok Sabha constituency went to polls on April 26 during the second phase of Lok Sabha 2024 along with other constituencies in Kerala. The polling percentage was 73.42. Encompassing parts of the Palakkad district, this parliamentary seat reflects Kerala's rich socio-political mosaic.

Last updated till June 4 11 p.m.Alathur, a constituency dominated by farmers, spans Palakkad and Thrissur districts. It was carved out of the Ottapalam Lok Sabha constituency, which had elected former President K.R. Narayanan in 1984, 1989, and 1991.
Alathur attracted early attention in the electoral battle with the early presence of Minister for Welfare of SC/ST and Backward Classes, KRadhakrishnan. As the sole State Minister in the fray in Kerala, Radhakrishnan poses a challenge to UDF's incumbent MP Ramya Haridas, who is vying for a second term in this reserved constituency.

Demographically, the constituency mirrors Kerala's diverse fabric, comprising Hindu, Muslim, and Christian communities. Hindu voters form the majority with 75.3%, followed by significant Muslim 15.8% and Christian populations 8.9%. Additionally, the constituency is reserved for Scheduled Castes, ensuring representation for this group in the electoral process.
