THANE: National Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) candidate Suresh Mahatre alias Balya Mama who is in the fray from Bhiwandi constituency where election will be held during the fifth phase of polls in Maharashtra on May 20, holds a debt amounting to a staggering 75 crore rupees.
Suresh Mahatre who till now has changed at least eight different parties recently joined NCP after leaving Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde and managed to get party's ticket. In the 2014 election, Suresh Mahatre had contested on MNS ticket in which he had bagged over 93,000 votes against BJP candidate Kapil Patil. This time Bhiwandi seat will have triangle fight between BJP's Kapil Moreshwar Patil, Suresh Mahatre and independent candidate Nilesh Sambare, who is running the Jijau Sangathana.
