Thane: The Thane police have launched a manhunt to nab a 17-year-old murder accused who has been evading arrest by fleeing to Kerala.
The police said that last week a senior citizen, Karabhai Suvi was found dead inside a hotel room near Thane station on Saturday.
“Investigations revealed that the victim’s face had prickled injury marks which was probably made with a fork. Apart from this it seemed that he was strangled with a pillow by the accused may be with the motive of robbery,” said a senior police officer. After committing the crime, the accused fled from the scene and a team of police officers are tracking his movements.
Initially, he travelled to Konkan and then to Goa and from there he went to Kerala. Till last reports came in, he was heading towards Uttar Pradesh and possibly to his hometown. “It is surprising that the 17-year-old teenager is tricking the police and evading arrest by changing locations so swiftly. He must be aware of how the police operates. Nevertheless, we will catch him soon.” said a police officer.
The accused after committing the murder had asked for Rs 3000 from a hotel staffer and left from the hotel saying that there was an emergency at his home and he needed to reach there soon, informed police.
