ULHASNAGAR: A speeding car hit three vehicles, including an auto rickshaw, injuring the rickshaw driver. Police said that, luckily, no one was inside the auto rickshaw, and the other two two-wheeler vehicles that were damaged were parked on the roadside. Otherwise, more people could have been injured.

The injured rickshaw driver is admitted to a private hospital in Ulhasnagar, where he is undergoing treatment.

The incident took place on Friday at 8.30am in the Siddharth Nagar area of Ulhasnagar Camp 4 when a speeding car suddenly collided with an auto rickshaw parked on the roadside.

The impact of the collision was so significant that the auto rickshaw further collided with two other two-wheelers parked ahead of it.

In the mishap, the auto driver, Sachin Pawar, was also injured. Those who witnessed the accident said that after the mishap, locals gathered and caught the car driver, handing him over to the local Vithalwadi police, who immediately arrived at the spot.

The locals suspect that the driver was drunk.

Pawar, who is undergoing treatment, said, "I was standing on the roadside after parking my auto when suddenly the car dashed into me." The police said they registered an offence related to rash driving against the driver, and further investigation is ongoing.
