The allegations came after nearly 12 nurses from the hospital, which is a Covid-19 centre, tested positive earlier this week. They even complained about the delay in test results.

"Our health is not checked when we enter the hospital premises. Neither we are checked for symptoms nor our temperature is taken. Also, the Covid-19 test results are delayed by almost four days. Since we are health workers our reports should ideally be done on a priority basis as we are around not only patients but even family members and other staff," said a nurse on the basis of anonymity.

It is also learnt that proper sanitation is not done once the staff removes their PPE kits. They hence claimed that it could be due to this negligence that the staff is now falling prey to the infection.

"When we remove the kit there are no sanitisers, soaps or any disinfectant in the room for us. So if we are carrying the virus we take it with us till our homes or hotels that we are staying in. Also, the room is not sprayed with disinfectant on a regular basis which should be done," said a staff from the hospital.

The civil surgeon, however, denied these claims stating that they are taking adequate precautions.
