PM visits defence facility in Hazira, plants tree
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Larsen & Toubro’s (L & T) manufacturing facility at Hazira in Surat on Friday. He reviewed the ongoing industrial operations, defence and infrastructure projects here. To mark the ‘World Environment Day’, PM Modi also planted a tree at AM Naik Heavy Engineering Complex. He stayed there for about 45 minutes and the company officials briefed him about ongoing projects, especially defence projects. He was also briefed on the Zorawar tank and other defence equipment manufactured at the facility. The DRDO) and L&T Defence have developed the air-transportable 25-tonne tank designed for rapid deployment on borders. “The role played by L&T in furthering self-reliance in the defence sector is commendable.”, Modi said on ‘X’.
