Justice, respect for terror victims’ kin top priority: LG Sinha

Srinagar: J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha handed over orders of to family members of on Wednesday. “Justice, respect and dignity to family members of civilians killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists is my top priority,” he said.

“So far, around 250 terror victims’ families have been provided with govt jobs. This mission will continue until justice is served for every affected family. This is the new era of justice in J&K,” Sinha said while speaking at Govt Degree College, Kupwara.

The LG said a MoU had been signed between High-Range Rural Development Society (HRDS India) and the Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir, under which authorities would identify families whose houses were destroyed by terrorists, and rebuild them.

Promising the affected families proper rehabilitation, Sinha said, “Families of civilian martyrs have gone through deep trauma, suffered various challenges — including unemployment and education — and felt loss of hope in the past three decades. Criminal justice system will ensure perpetrators and elements of the terror ecosystem are punished, providing a sense of justice and closure for the victim's family and society. I have assured the families that their decades-long trauma, torment and suffering are over.”
