SRINAGAR: The CBI on Thursday said it has arrested seven more people involved in the Jammu & Kashmir police sub-inspector recruitment scam.
The CBI arrested seven accused including the head constable and constables of CRPF, the ASI of J&K police, and private people involved in the scam, a press statement from the agency said.
The press note said the accused were produced before the court of CJM, Jammu.
“The CBI registered a case on 03.08.2022 at the request of the J&K government against 33 accused on the allegations of irregularities in written examination for the posts of Sub-Inspectors in the J&K Police conducted by the J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB),” the press note said.
Searches were earlier conducted at various locations in several states and UTs, including J&K, Haryana, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka, at the premises of the accused people, which led to recovery of a large number of incriminating documents and digital evidence, the press note said.
It added that out of the 13 arrested earlier, 9 are presently in judicial custody and 4 are in police custody.
