SHIMLA: In a late-night operation, the Indian Air Force evacuated a critical patient from Bhuntar in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday.

The patient, who is in the army, was airlifted in an Mi-17 chopper from the Western Air Command headquarters, New Delhi.

Over 2000 residents of villages falling under Indora and Fathehpur sub-divisions of the district were rescued by the Airforce and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in an operation that lasted for three days.
