Those who killed daily wager will be nabbed, says Meghalaya CM

Shillong: Chief minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday said those who killed a daily wager in the city on Wednesday would be nabbed and legal action taken. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an election rally in the Garo Hills on Thursday, Sangma said the govt had taken up the issue “seriously” and those responsible for the murder would be brought to book. “I had spoken to the family members (of the victim) yesterday and I told them that I am sad after hearing the news. I said if there is any problem, they can directly contact me,” the chief minister added.The DGP and the chief secretary would meet on Friday and all preparations are in place to ensure that there is no law and order situation in Shillong and elsewhere in the state, the CM said.Arjun Ray (52), a daily wage worker, died after being brutally attacked with iron rods by assailants in an underconstruction private house at Mawlai Mawroh in the city on Wednesday.
