Thomas A Sangma elected Meghalaya speaker

SHILLONG: Ruling NPP legislator from North Tura constituency, Thomas A Sangma, was on Thursday elected unopposed as the new speaker of the Meghalaya assembly.

“I hope that as the speaker, I will be able to give a free and fair chance to all the participating legislators to help bring about transformation to our beloved state,” Thomas said.
