Meghalaya planning board takes up Shillong traffic snarls

"There are also proposals to construct link roads from Laitkor to Laitlyngot, Umlyngka to Cantonment area and Sawlad to Umpling," he said.
"The government is serious about easing the traffic problem in the city for once and all and hence several proposals for roads are in the pipeline," he said.
Meanwhile, the State Planning Board has directed the concerned departments to go slow as far as implementing various guidelines for those who are operating sawmills and stone crushers in the state.
Talking to media persons after a marathon meeting with various departments, Planning Board chairman, Lambor Malngiang said that the state has already suffered due the ban on coal mining.
