Shillong: Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, the deputy commissioner of East Khasi Hills district, RM Kurbah, launched EVM demonstration vans on Monday. She emphasized the importance of voter turnout and civic engagement, aiming for a robust participation in the upcoming elections. National Conference members criticized the government for not conducting elections and not restoring statehood in J&K as promised.
