Ex-Pak soldiers among terrorists: Army commander
Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, Northern Army Commander, indicated the presence of retired Pakistani soldiers among terrorists in J&K. He mentioned that some of them are retired army personnel of Pakistan and that there could be around two dozen terrorists in the Jammu region. The recent encounter in Rajouri revealed the foreign terror threat, with the killing of a top Pakistan-based Lashkar commander and another operative. Pakistan is attempting to push foreign terrorists into the region due to lack of local support. The forces are working to neutralize these foreign terrorists.

Pakistan's attempts to disturb the region have been dealt a severe blow. Intensified operations in Jammu region aim to control the situation within a year. The supreme sacrifice and bravery of the five soldiers, including Captain MV Pranjal, are boosting morale.
Surya Command half-marathon in Jabalpur as warm-up to Army Day
GOC-in-C Central Command Lt. General NS Raja Subramani flagged off the first ever 'Surya Half Marathon' in Jabalpur on Sunday as part of a prelude to Army Day 2024 celebrations in Lucknow. Organised by Madhya Bharat Area, Jabalpur, the much-awaited half marathon saw participation from over 3,000 military and police personnel, fitness enthusiasts, NCC cadets, women, and school children. Starting from Cobra Ground, Jabalpur, the half marathon featured attractive prizes for podium finishers in three categories -- 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km - allowing participation from across all age groups and people of different fitness levels. The runners crossed the green and scenic environs of the Cantonment, including the training centres of the Indian Army located in Jabalpur, where the Indian Army's troops are made battle ready.
