‘10BedICU’ project launched in 11 Meghalaya dists

Shillong: Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma and health minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Tuesday launched the ‘10BedICU’ project across 14 healthcare centres in the state, covering 11 districts.A private-public partnership initiative between the department of health and family welfare and eGovernment Foundation, it includes 10 beds in ICU’s in district-level government hospitals.Conrad lauded the stakeholders for ensuring that healthcare facilities and services were being made available in rural and inaccessible areas, including district hospitals.“The infrastructure and system being set up would allow us to optimise all of our resources and make them work in the most efficient manner. It is the aspiration to expand this endeavour so that the best possible support in terms of healthcare to some of the most remote and difficult areas of the state could be achieved,” the chief minister said.“We would give top priority to our social sectors and health would be one of the major area of focus. With this in mind, the state now reserves 8% of its budget on healthcare, which is the highest in the country,” he said.

MCD invites applications from private hospitals and clinics for healthcare empanelment

Municipal Corporation of Delhi has invited private hospitals, clinics, diagnostic and eyecare centers to provide healthcare benefits to its employees and pensioners. The exercise is a fresh empanelment process as the tenure of already empanelled centers is ending soon. Previously, retired and other staff faced problems in getting health services from empanelled hospitals due to unpaid bills. Fresh applications are invited from interested private hospitals and healthcare centers, regardless of their pending dues. The selected centers will provide services to retired personnel at CGHS rates and cashless to current employees.

Number of cities covered under CGHS will be expanded to 100 soon: Health minister Mandaviya

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announces expansion of CGHS coverage from 80 to 100 cities. Mandaviya inaugurates three CGHS Wellness Centres and a robotic surgery unit. The government aims to provide healthcare services closest to the residence of CGHS beneficiaries. The minister highlights the provision of generic medicines and establishment of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs across India.

Punjab minister lays foundation stone of state's largest treated water irrigation project in Moga

Punjab's largest irrigation project, aimed at utilizing 27 MLD of treated water from the sewage treatment plant in Moga, has been initiated by Punjab soil and water conservation Minister Chetan Singh Jauramajra. The project will benefit agricultural fields of four nearby villages. The state government aims to double the treated water usage to 600 MLD by the end of the year, benefiting 20,000 hectares of agricultural land. The project, costing Rs 12.87 crore, will benefit more than 1000 hectares of agricultural land. Groundwater resources in the state are declining, making alternate surface water-based irrigation sources necessary.
