The collector informed reporters that the avian influenza outbreak was confirmed in Kurnool, Eluru, NTR and West Godavari districts. "We have advised poultry farmers to take necessary precautions to prevent such an outbreak in our district," she stated.

She emphasized that poultry farmers should disinfect all vehicles arriving from other states before they enter the farms. Additionally, vehicles leaving the farms should also undergo thorough fumigation with disinfectants.

The collector instructed farmers to ensure that workers are also disinfected upon entering the farms. “Workers should soak their feet in disinfectant solution and wear gloves, masks and aprons while on duty,” she noted.

The collector distributed a handout detailing the precautionary measures that poultry farmers should follow.
