UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2026 Ranchi: Peaceful Conduct, Strict Security Measures

Ranchi: The Union Public Service Commission’s Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026 was conducted peacefully at 36 centres across Ranchi on Sunday under elaborate security arrangements.The examination was held in two sessions, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The morning session covered general studies, while the afternoon session was for the civil services aptitude test. To prevent any disturbance, Sadar sub-divisional officer Kumar Rajat imposed prohibitory orders within a 200-metre radius of all examination centres. The restrictions barred the gathering of five or more persons, use of loudspeakers, display of arms and ammunition and traditional weapons, and the organisation of public meetings near the venues.Rajat said the district administration ensured tight deployment at every location.
