DC’s intervention resolves student’s scholarship application glitch
Bokaro: A technical glitch on the e-Kalyan portal which prevented a BEd student from applying for a scholarship was resolved by the intervention of Bokaro deputy commissioner Ajay Nath Jha on Saturday. During a public grievance redressal programme, ‘Hum Aapko Sunte Hai’ (We hear you), Chandan Kumar Mahto highlighted how the system was wrongly categorising his application as “renewal”.
Mahto, pursuing BEd at Mahto Teachers Training College, said he had earlier studied at Drona ITI and applied for a scholarship for the 2024-25 session.
After completing the year-long course, he took a transfer certificate and enrolled in the BEd programme. But the portal automatically placed his application under the renewal category. As a fresh application was required for the new course, the error prevented him from applying.
Taking cognisance, Jha directed officials to fix the issue after which necessary corrections were made, enabling him to submit a fresh application once the scholarship window opens. Jha said, “The district administration is committed to prompt resolution of public grievances, especially students.”
