Bokaro woman, minor daughter among 3 marriage guests killed in H’bag road accident
Hazaribag: A woman and her minor daughter, who were sitting in the courtyard outside a marriage pandal, were killed by a speeding pick-up van at Kamlujara village in Hazaribag district on Friday night, police said.
Mohan Kisku lodged an FIR at the Bishnugarh police alleging that the deceased included his wife, Murti Devi (35), besides Dashmi Devi (33) and her three-year-old daughter Alina Kumari. All the deceased hailed from Kausi village in Narayanpur block of Bokaro district. The injured were identified as Rakesh Kisku, Kanti Devi, and Usha Devi.
Officer in-charge of the Bishnugarh police station Subhash Kumar Singh said, “The deceased had come to attend the marriage ceremony at the residence of Kishore Besra on Friday. Around 9 pm, when they were sitting in the courtyard, a pick-up van bearing number JH02BD 5775 crashed into them in the courtyard, killing two women and a girl, while injuring three others. The van later crashed into the wall of the courtyard. The van driver and three others, who were injured in the incident, were admitted to the local hospital, which referred the driver to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims), Ranchi. The bodies were sent to the Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examinations.”
Bishnugarh SDPO BN Prasad said, “The vehicle has been seized.”
