6 booked for power theft in Bokaro

Bokaro: Taking action against power theft, the Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) has lodged an FIR against six persons at Sector-6 police station, it said on Saturday. “Some persons were found involved in unauthorised electrical hooking. When the home guards tried to stop them and confiscate the wires, an altercation took place,” a BSL spokesperson said.

Sector-6 police station in-charge Sangeeta Kumari said, “Six have been named in the complaint for allegedly assaulting a Home Guard jawan. Police have begun probe.” The BSL suffers annual losses of nearly Rs 50 crore due to electricity theft in the township.
