29-yr-old medical student dies by suicide in Bokaro
Bokaro: A 29-year-old medical student from Bihar died by suicide in the DNB girls' hostel of Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) on Sunday night. DSP City Alok Ranjan on Monday confirmed the incident and identified the student as Arya Jha, a resident of Bihar's Muzaffarpur.A suicide letter was also recovered from the spot in which the student had asked her parents to forgive her as she wasn't able the pursue ‘gynaecology and obstetrics'. The deceased had taken admission in DNB first year in BGH on Feb 28 this year.The DSP said, "The deceased was not interested in pursuing the subject which prompted her to take the extreme step as her parents told the police."The incident came to light when her room mate returned after finishing duty and found that the door was locked from inside. When the door did not open even after repeated knocking, she informed other students in the hostel. After that they managed to open the door, they discovered her hanging from the ceiling.On receiving the information, senior doctors of BGH also reached the spot and informed the police. Jha had done her duty in the casualty ward in the morning.In another incident, a 32-year-old woman of Sector 6B hung herself from a fan on Sunday night. The incident came to light after her mother returned home. Officer in-charge of Sector 4 police station, Prabhat Kumar said, "The deceased was identified as Anjali Kumari. She was suffering from depression. She had also left her job."A 52-year-old woman, identified as Manju Devi, a resident of Gomia, died after jumping in front of a train on Sunday afternoon. GRP has sent the body to Tenughat for postmortem. Police are investigating the incident. The reason for the incident is said to be a family dispute.
