Four pilgrims from Diu killed in car-truck collision
Rajkot: Four people were killed and two others injured after a car collided with a truck near Haripar village in Morbi district’s Maliya Miyana area on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Manoj Kapadiya, his son Jaymshu, Kanchan Bambaniya and her son Bharat. According to police, all the victims were residents of Ghoghla village in Diu and were travelling to Mata No Madh in Kutch for darshan.”
“Preliminary investigation suggests that the car’s tyre burst, causing the driver to lose control before the vehicle collided with a truck,” said Rakesh Patel, police inspector of Maliya Miyana police station.
Police said Bharat was driving the car at the time of the accident.
Jagruti Pandya and her minor daughter sustained injuries in the crash. They were initially taken to a nearby govt hospital and later referred to Rajkot Civil Hospital for further treatment.
