23-yr-old stabbed to death in Gondal

Rajkot: Gondal city police on Sunday booked an autorickshaw driver for allegedly stabbing a 23-year-old man to death to avenge the harassment of his daughter by the deceased. Police said that Vijay Bharvad was stabbed during the wee hours of Sunday near Vorakotda Road allegedly by Dharmendra Bawaji. Vijay and his friend were returning home on a motorcycle when Bawaji intercepted them in his autorickshaw. According to the FIR filed by Vijay’s father Virambhai (55), Bawaji stabbed Vijay several times in different parts of the body and fled leaving behind his auto. Vijay was rushed to a private hospital and later shifted to Gondal government hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police said that Bawaji had earlier accused Vijay and his friends of harassing his daughter and lodged a police complaint against them. Vijay’s father alleged in his complaint that Bawaji killed his son. TNN
