Raipur: The 21-year-old Fameshwari Yadav from Gariyabandh district became the first woman from the state to be selected for Agniveer in the
Indian Army's Military Police, said a PIB statement. The results of the Agniveer Women Military Police (WMP) recruitment were declared on March 24, 2025.
Officials said Fameshwari has proven through her hard work and determination that women too can risk their lives for the service of the nation. Fameshwari Yadav was felicitated by the officials from the Army Recruitment Office, Raipur. Her training will begin on May 1, 2025, at the Military Police Center in Bengaluru.
Inspired by Fameshwari Yadav's achievement, many other women from the state will be encouraged and motivated to follow in her footsteps, increasing the number of women joining the Indian Army in the future and contributing to the nation's service, the statement said.
