PM Modi pledges to safeguard Constitution, vows to preserve reservation
RAIPUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday accused the Congress of spreading lies and assured the people that 'as long as I am there, I will be a shield to protect the Constitution and will never let reservation end'.
“Whenever election comes, Congress starts spreading lies that there is a threat to the Constitution and the reservation would come to an end”, he said while addressing an election rally in Sakti under the Janjgir-Champa Lok Sabha seat of Chhattisgarh.
Congress is spreading such lies because it is bewildered by the investigations into various scams, the PM said. The Prime Minister also criticized the Congress for engaging in appeasement politics and stated that an appeasement policy is ingrained in the DNA of the Congress. The Congress abused Modi and Sahu Samaj, said the Prime Minister and now advocating for the welfare of OBCs.
“A Congress candidate in Goa is saying that the Constitution of India will not work in Goa. Is this disrespecting Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar or not? Is it disrespecting the Constitution or not? Dr. Babasaheb's Constitution is working in Jammu and Kashmir," the Prime Minister said.
"This is a deliberate move to break the country. Today, they are denying the Constitution in Goa; in the future, they will do the same in the country. Congress does not have any vision for the development of the country," the PM said.
Taking a dig at the Congress, PM Modi said, "Congress people used to mock us. They used to ask us in every election, 'When will the temple be built?'. We gave them a date, told them the time, sent invitations. But the arrogance of Congress's seventh heaven rejected the invitation for the consecration ceremony. They consider themselves greater than Lord Ram. Don’t you think that the Congress has insulted the tribal, Lord Ram?”
The PM assured, "The scheme providing free ration will continue for the next five years. Under Ayushman Bharat, millions of families are receiving free treatment. We will ensure that every family in Chhattisgarh gets the benefit. We will make three crore sisters millionaires."
The PM stated, "The BJP government walks the talk. In Janjgir-Champa, 50 thousand families got permanent homes. Two lakh new water connections have been provided. Three lakh sisters also received Ujjwala connections. For me, you are my family. My India is my family. It is also my responsibility to worry about the joys and sorrows of the family. That is why I have decided that the free ration scheme will continue for the next five years. Under Ayushman Bharat, up to five lakh free treatments are guaranteed to millions of families here. If there are families in Chhattisgarh who are backward, elderly, 70 years old, and fall ill, don't be stingy in getting them treated. Your son will bear the expenses."
"Congress is not interested in empowering backward tribal poor. They are stuck in vote bank politics. BJP is a party that operates on the mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'. The welfare of the poor, youth, women, and farmers is our priority," Modi emphasized.
"Should the son of a poor mother become an engineer, doctor, or scientist? Modi has decided that now the son of a poor mother will become everything. They will study in their mother tongue. When we talk about a self-reliant India, Congress says it's not an issue," the PM criticized.
“There is still much work to be done, which is why I have come again to seek blessings. A few months ago, I had come to seek blessings and the people of Chhattisgarh blessed me wholeheartedly."
The Prime Minister continued, "For me, you are my family. Now tell me, you all are very generous, blessing-giving people. Whenever I have asked for blessings, I have received them. Now, I have come to request again."
"You must spare an hour for Modi. On May seventh, take an hour out to vote for Modi. You have to send Sister Kamlesh Jangde from Janjgir-Champa and Brother Radheshyam Rathia from Raigarh to assist me by giving them a heavy mandate.” Those who support me in Delhi are here to form a strong government, the PM asserted.
The Prime Minister expressed his faith in the blessings of Maa Chandrahasini Ashtabhuji and Shivrinarayan Giroudhpuri Dham Damakhera.
Referring to the prophecy of the ancestors of the Ramnaami society of Chhattisgarh, PM Modi continued, "The society's ancestors prophesied over a century ago about when the foundation stone of the Ram temple would be laid. “I am fortunate to have laid the foundation stone. The country had lost hope for Ayodhya's temple. The BJP fulfilled that hope."
Addressing the meeting, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said, "Congratulations to the villagers of the sacred land of Jetha village on the banks of the great Mahanadi who participated in the Victory Resolve Shankhanad Mahareli Rally." It is fortunate for us that Prime Minister Modi is among us.
Chhattisgarh has to teach the Congress government, which was the fortress of crime, a lesson once again. We have to put all 11 seats in the lap of the PM. Thank you all for believing in Modi's guarantee and putting BJP in power. We have fulfilled Modi's guarantee within three months.
"We have fulfilled Modi's guarantee within three months," he added.
Later, at a rally in Dhamtari in the Mahasamund constituency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that Chhattisgarh's road, rail, irrigation, and internet connectivity would expand when he returned to power for the third term. The Vishnu Deo Sai government continues to communicate with Delhi about these four sectors. The information provided by the Sai government will be of great help when new policies are formulated after the formation of the government at the centre, the Prime Minister said at the Vijay Sankalp Maha Rally on Tuesday.
Further taking a dig at the Congress, PM Modi said, "Wherever the Congress's 'Shaahi' family goes to vote in Delhi, they don't even have a candidate for that seat. And yet, these people are asking for votes across the country. How can Chhattisgarh trust such people?" Modi asked.
"I have come to seek blessings for the development of Chhattisgarh. I trust that whatever demands you have made from Chhattisgarh; you have not been disappointed. Chhattisgarh has coal power, steel power, and a wealth of forest resources. Chhattisgarh is capable of propelling the nation's growth. Since I became Prime Minister, I have attended to your needs without taking any breaks. Have you heard any news about me taking a break?" the PM said.
PM Modi continued, “After our government comes to power, the development of Chhattisgarh will happen quickly. Wherever the Congress has formed a government, violence and corruption have reached their peak. What relation does Congress's violence have with them hiding their corruption? To conceal their corruption, Congress encourages violence. People kept losing their lives, and Congress kept filling its treasury. Now, Naxalism is rapidly decreasing in Chhattisgarh. I assure Chhattisgarh that I will eradicate Naxalism from here.”
The PM mentioned that a former Prime Minister used to say that if one rupee is sent from Delhi, only 15 paise reaches the poor. Which 'Panja' (palm) took 85 paise on the way? We have opened more than 150 crore Jan Dhan accounts in the country. In the last 10 years, the BJP government has directly transferred Rs 34 lakh crore to the accounts of the people. If the Congress government had transferred 34 lakh crore rupees, then 29 lakh crore rupees would have been siphoned off by middlemen in their government. Modi has saved money for you.
PM Modi added that the Congress never understands the pain of the poor. People born with a silver spoon in their mouth will never understand the pain of a poor mother. Modi can understand this pain because he has experienced it himself. The Congress has never worried about how a poor tribal family will arrange money for treatment.
