Chhattisgarh's Bhavesh Sarang wins silver in national weightlifting

RAIPUR: Bhavesh Sarang of Chhattisgarh won silver medal in the junior 81-kg category of the Junior and Senior National Weightlifting Championship being organised in Tamil Nadu.

Bhavesh lifted a total of 281 kilogram including 130 kilogram stretch, 151 kilogram clean and jerk. With it, Bhavesh has clinched his second silver medal in the nationals. Earlier, he had bagged a silver medal in the national championship organised in Bhubaneswar in 2021.

Meanwhile, Abhinav Singh from Rajasthan stood first as he lifted 284 kilogram while Amie Malik from Uttarakhand bagged the bronze by lifting 278 kilogram weight.
