Tara, Indonesia’s Azzarya claim Junior int’l GP badminton titles

Pune: Top-seed Tara Shah came back from a game down to win the girls’ singles title in the India Junior International Grand Prix at the PDMBA Complex on Sunday.
Tara lost the first game 13-21 but came back to stretch her unseeded opponent Rakshita Santhosh to win 25-23 and stay in the match.
She then won the third game 21-15 to seal the match.
In the men’s final, Indonesia’s Denis Azzarya defeated India’s Aman Suresh 21-16, 21-10 to win the title.
Paddlers Anandita, Neil crowned champions
Second seed Anandita Lunawat defeated unseeded Radhika Sakpal 4-1 to lift the Under-19 girls’ title of the Pramod Mulay Memorial Pune District table tennis tournament at PYC Hindu Gymkhana. Anandita won 11-8, 11-4, 11-9, 10-12, 11-9.
In the boys’ final, fifth seed Neil Mulye also won with the same scoreline. He defeated unseeded Ishan Khandekar 11-9, 11-13, 11-7, 12-10, 11-8. tnn
