Police nab criminal on the run for 10 years

CHINCHWAD: The Sangvi police on Monday arrested a notorious 29-year-old criminal, who has been on the wanted list of the Beed district police for a decade now.


The suspect, Dnynoba Gitte, alias Gotya, was taken into custody from Pimple Nilakh on a tip-off received by assistant commissioner of police Shridhar Jadhav. “We have handed Gitte over to the Paratil rural police,” said assistant inspector Yogesh Avhad.

Jadhav received the information that Gitte, who was wanted for serious offences like robberies and kidnapping, was seen in Pimple Nilakh. “We had laid a trap near a restaurant and arrested Gitte,” Avhad said. Investigations have revealed that Gitte has five cases registered against him since 2008. The cases pertain to robbery with murder, armed robberies and kidnapping and are lodged with the Parali city, Parali rural and Yusuf Wadgaon police stations in Beed district.
