Indo-German plays on radicalization next month

PUNE: The city-based Maharashtra Cultural Centre (MCC) and Germany's Junges Schauspielhaus will together present two plays portraying the serious problem of

radicalization

.


A statement issued by the MCC said that Shrirang

Godbole

and Vibhavari Deshpande authored the play 'Y' while Junges Schauspielhaus came up with the play 'Paradise' under the collaboration. The plays will be staged next month in Pune at Jyotsna Bhole auditorium. There will be lectures and seminars on the problem of radicalization and why the youth get drawn to terrorism and violence.

A poster and short film competition titled 'Towards Peace' has also been announced as part of the joint venture. All short films will be screened during a festival and the first three winners will get cash awards of Rs15,000, Rs10,000 and Rs5,000.
