AURANGABAD: The Congress has registered a significant performance in the by-elections to the Aurangabad municipal corporation by winning three seats of the total five at stake.

AURANGABAD: The Congress has registered a significant performance in the by-elections to the Aurangabad municipal corporation by winning three seats of the total five at stake.
The Shiv Sena managed to gain only one seat while the Bharatiya Republican Party-Bahujan Mahasangh too got one seat.
The by-elections to the five wards were conducted following disqualification of five corporators who had submitted false caste certificates while filing their nominations.

The victorious candidates are Sultana Siddiqui, Nazar Hamid and Javed Qureshi of the Congress, Sopan Pare (Shiv Sena) and Sunil Magare (Bahujan Mahasangh).
