Car fatally runs over dog; driver booked

Pune: The Koregaon Park police on Saturday registered a case against a car driver who ran his vehicle over Molly, a dog, on the premises of a housing society in Boat Club road area on May 24.

According to local animal welfare volunteers, Molly was 15 years old, peaceful and fed by residents. A resident registered the case with the police. The police have identified the driver.

According to the police, she was sitting on the society premises when the car entered the society. The police said the car driver deliberately ran his car over the dog despite seeing the dog. The police said they would soon question the driver to understand his motive behind his act.
