Thirumurugan made min in Pondy cabinet

PUDUCHERRY: All India NR Congress (AINRC) MLA P R N Thirumurugan, 51, elected from Karaikal North constituency was appointed as a minister in the cabinet led by AINRC founder leader and chief minister N Rangasamy.

Joint secretary (home affairs) Ashutosh Agnihotri issued a notification in this regard after the President's approval stating that his appointment will be with effect from the date he is sworn in. The notification was published in the Union govt's gazette.

The vacancy in the cabinet fell after lone woman minister S Chandira Priyanga, a dalit, resigned in Oct last year levelling gender and caste discrimination charges against the AINRC-BJP coalition govt.
