This was stated by the party's legislature wing leader, A Anbalagan while addressing reporters.

He pointed out that neighbouring Tamil Nadu's 'relentless legal efforts' had resulted in the Supreme court now asking e Centre to place before it a draft scheme by May 3.

This marked a victory for the sustained legal battle the Tamil Nadu government had been fighting in Cauvery water issue to protect the ryots.

On the other hand, the Puducherry government adopted a 'lethargic approach' to protect farmers of Karaikal,who depend on the river for irrigation, he added.
