Teachers on Census duty asked to upload details in 48 hours
Patna: The education department has directed all headmasters, headteachers and teachers deputed for Census-2027 work to submit their deployment details on the E-Shikshakosh portal within 48 hours.
Teachers have been appointed as enumerators and supervisors for house listing and housing census activities under the upcoming national census exercise. The department issued the directive after finding that it did not have complete and updated information about the number of teachers engaged in census duties across the state.
Sources in the education department said the absence of updated data had created difficulties in providing academic and administrative support to teachers involved in census work. To address the issue, the department has launched an online reporting system through the E-Shikshakosh portal.
Under the new arrangement, all deputed teachers will have to log in using their official IDs and upload details related to their census assignments. The information submitted by teachers will first be verified by the concerned Block Education Officer (BEO). After that, the data will be confirmed by the district magistrate.
The education department has made it clear that only those teachers whose information is verified by the district magistrate will be eligible for special relaxation and facilities during the census period.
The department has also instructed district, subdivision and block-level authorities to ensure that all teachers complete the process within the stipulated time limit.
